Rockets, Heat, Pistons Interested In Russell Westbrook

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Jul 7, 2019 5:36 pm

The Houston Rockets have interest in trading for Russell Westbrook, sources tell ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

The odds of the Rockets actually being able to trade for Westbrook, however, are slim.

Westbrook and his agent, Thad Foucher, engaged with Sam Presti about the next step of his career.

The Athletic also reported that the Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons have interest in Westbrook.

Cp3 started his career in OKC after Katrina hit NOLA. Time to ship his ass back to where it all started and make a corny “going home” campaign out of it lol

Detroit to me just seems like such a perfect fit and seems like they would have the assist to get it done. I personally would then trade Drummond for a deeper bench

Westbrook and Harden back together again would be interesting.

OKC could then buy CP3 out and then he could sign on a discount with his boy; Lebron. That would be interesting to watch. He’d play well with AD too.

Maybe even then the Lakers pick up Melo on the minimum and play him bench minutes with CP3 at point. Banana Boat/2017 Pels mashup. Haha

CP3 Westbrook is an even money swap and would open up 47 mil in cap space a year earlier.
Then the Harden-Westbrook alpha dog war in Houston would be great theater.

okc will reward westbrook for all he's done for the city by trading him to a contender
=
detroit is OUTTY

cp3 <---> westy. hou has gone as far as it can go with cp3. he doesn't have the extra gear
i want a re-team. and there will be no problem between russ and james. westbrook is the biggest alpha in the nba but he knows it's james' team

They’re gonna have to probably trade Drummond Jackson and picks to get Westbrook.

What assets do the Rockets have to trade for Westbrook? Or do they mean CP3? CP3’s contract is at most neutral, probably a negative moving forward.

Next summer will have a weaker class of free agents, while a few teams will still have max space.

Best trade for OKC is next summer to a team with space, while taking back a bunch of draft picks and a selective few good young players in small contracts. Like what they did with PG13.

Or, trade with those teams this season and take back expiring contracts and those same picks, so they can have their own 2020 pick in lottery.

I'm kinda shocked the Rockets would be interested, seeing as Morey prefers efficent players.

Heat supporters, what do you guys think about this trade scenario? Big 2 in South Beach gives the east another contender and I think Russ would really go hard in Miami. :D

That’s ridiculous. They will trade him to the best offer.

Out of these three teams only the Heat make sense. No one wants to play/live in Detroit and a re-team with Harden would be disastrous.

Riley will get it done so we can all witness the wonder of Westbrook and Butler’s personalities meshing.

I'd really like to see Westbrook and Harden together. OKC, please do the CP3 trade when you can't find any other takers. It doesn't solve the salary problem both players have, but at least it hits the reset button for both teams. That alone should be reason enough to make the deal.

Or try to trade him into the Knick's cap space.
