The Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to trade Jerami Grant to the Denver Nuggets for a 2020 first round pick.

The deal saves the Thunder $39 million in salary and tax.

Danilo Gallinari will start for the Thunder at power forward this season, which made Grant expendable.

Denver absorbs Grant's $9 million salary into the trade exception created with the Wilson Chandler deal to Philadelphia on July 8, 2018.

More like, dealing Paul George starting the rebuilding process in OKC.

This is below the radar move, but an extremely impressive one. As a Jazz fan I don’t like this move. I wanted Grant, and it makes guarding the Nugs much harder over the course of the game.

I'm excited to see how he does playing with a team that moves the ball and helps each other create open looks. If he can shoot close to last seasons 39% from three, he will be a nice addition.

Make no mistake every player on OKC lost is available in order to reduce thier payroll and get under the luxury tax cap.. That 300 mill bill was always too much for OKC especially with first round exits..

PG13 shot over 40% from 3 didn't help em much..

Good move for both teams, Grant is underrated player with a much improved shot since entering the league. Thunder being able to flip him for a 1st and reduce salary is a win-win.

Don't they already have Jarred Vanderbilt who is a damn near clone of Grant? Not a good sign for Vanderbilt.

Thunder will definetly get future All stars with all these picks.

Vanderbilt, based off two summer league games - so not much, doesn't look ready yet. The plan could be for Grant to backup Millsap this year then take over as the starter next season. Vanderbilt should get a lot of G league minutes this year then could backup Grant next season if he improves.
