Tyson Chandler Agrees To One-Year Deal With Rockets

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jul 12, 2019 6:57 pm

The Houston Rockets have signed Tyson Chandler to a one-year deal.

Chandler finished last season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Rockets had been recruiting Chandler for weeks and the reunion of James Harden and Russell Westbrook is believed to have played a part in his commitment.

I remember reading an article a while back an article about him getting traded from Phoenix to have the deal fall through after he had said his goodbyes to the team, he showed up the next practice joking the team couldn't get rid of him that easily. I think he must be a great chemistry dude, there aren't many big men playing at 37, I think he's a great pickup for the locker room.

He was brought in for veteran leadership and locker room presence. I remember reading the opposite before she got traded. That he had become a problem in our locker room. Was sick of being on a bad team.

I get it, was on a team with Lebron James, all Lakers fans had playoff dreams, it was a frustrating situation for all involved.

If he was "being recruited for weeks" he damn well should have jumped at the opportunity at this point in his career. He practically invented Capella's role.

No disagreement there. But, please understand that it takes a few weeks for Chandler to work his way up to jumping for something these days...

Never in my life did I think Chandler would have an almost 20 year career in the NBA when he first got drafted. Kudos to him.

This read a lot harsher than intended..

Stand up guy and was a great get for the Lakers last season before they went super nova. Good depth pick up to replace Nene and Tyson gets to play with a good veteran team for some of his last games.

Especially when you consider the other high school bigs who entered the league with him:
Eddy Curry,
Kwame Brown,
and DeSagana Diop.
