Kyle Kuzma Believes He Can Become 'Third Star' For Lakers

Kyle Kuzma believes he can become the "third star" for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers acquired Anthony Davis this offseason and also pursued signing Kawhi Leonard.

"I don't feel no pressure, but I believe that I am capable of being that superstar," Kuzma told ESPN. "I put a lot of work in. My progress through my journey shows that I can be there. I developed every single year, dating back to college, and I don't see that development stunting at all."

Kuzma added, "Last year I didn't shoot the ball well, and I still averaged almost 20 [points per game]. If I can shoot the ball well and keep developing the facets of my game defensively, I don't see why I can't [be that third star]."

Hes a 3rd option tho unlike Melo. Lakers need as much shooting as possible especially in Catch and shoot situations. Kuz def aint a 1st or 2nd option. I think he will thrive next season under this role. And this is coming from a Lakers hater.

I don’t think the Lakers decision to give him a big extension next year will be based on what he said to the media during the previous summer. I would also be shocked if any pro ball player could actually think that talking about being a star would make a difference in his future pay.

Dude carried a 14.0PER last year and was one of the worst defenders in the league. Nice young player, but he barely improved over his first season, if at all. All these guys think they can be stars, but probably are a little deluded about just what that takes/implies.
