Klay Thompson joined Golden State Warriors teammates Steph Curry and Draymond Green in expressing his desire to play for Team USA in next year's Olympics. 

“I would love to play (for) Team USA. That is the plan. I would love to be on the Olympic team," Thompson told Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic.

Thompson and Curry played together in the 2014 World Cup, which Thompson said was a critical bonding experience for the duo.

Thompson echoed Gregg Popovich and Kobe Bryant's sentiment that the world game will continue to be a challenge for the U.S.

“It was hard to watch us lose. Those guys, they sacrificed their summers for that. I’m not going to dog them for losing, though. The world is good.”

Klay is someone I think would’ve played this summer if he didn’t get hurt in the Finals.
