Jimmy Butler will destroy Spoelstra and demand a trade.

All joking aside he is a very good coach and more then deserving of the extension.

Disagree completely on the jimmy Butler thing.

Spoelstra is a defensive coach, and jimmy is a top 5 defensive player, and has been for years.

Spoelstra and Miami will probably do better than this past season with Jimmy in charge.

Look at Minny and their success with him, then how bad they were without him. Jimmy is a franchise type player. Needs another piece with him, but someone who can lead a team if surrounded by other hungry players who care about winning, not stats.

Jimmy wants to win games. That's why Minny is so bad, those guys don't care about winning.

Probably the right call, but I definitely question if he would’ve lasted so long without the big 3 at the begginning of his coaching career.

And I post this expecting to get the “but someone still has to coach them” reply which would be an accurate statement. But I also think quite a few coaches could’ve won in what was a fairly favorable landscape (Boston/la declining along with SA getting fairly old) and with 2 top 5 and a top 25 player in bosh along with plenty of solid vet “role players” jumping on board for a championship.
