Do Raptors expect Siakam to put 25/10/5 type numbers and become an all nba player?

Makes no sense. Way too early for that kind of deal.

He's better than Ben Simmons.

Larger offensive arsenal including 3 pt shot.
Better defensively.
Not as good a passer but will get 4+ assists per game which is still VERY good for PF
Hardest worker on the team and great teammate

Deserves every penny.

I hope for the Org that the contract is incentive-based with lots of hoops to jump-through to get that kind of money, this is way too-early for this kind of contract, but they gotta lock-down this cornerstone piece.

Anyone that says he isnt a max player doesn't watch the Raptors. Siakam is easily one of the most unique players in the league. I would say probably the fastest player end to end with the ball in the league. TS is easily one of the highest in the league. Impacts the game in so many ways.

One could argue that drafting Siakam was Toronto's Draymond Green. A franchise altering piece at the end of the first round.

The birth of a bad contract. This one was so obvious too, but there it is.

Probably the fastest end to end with the ball? Clearly you’ve never watched De’Aaron Fox play one minute of basketball.

Otherwise, Siakam is a gamer. Good for him to land that type of contract. He’ll continue to work for it.

they signed Lowry to a similar deal so I'm not shocked. Small markets have to overpay or siakim will end up in LA or NY because the NBA is broken.

He's their best player now, so the move makes sense. They want to give him a real shot at becoming a franchise and/or all-star type player. They want the stability after losing Leonard and are taking a risk but he really showed alot of improvement last year and he could very well continue to improve. Smart Calculated Risk by the Raptors.

Is it standard for rookies to get the all-NBA bump in salary? Ben Simmons looks to have snagged the way better deal. 5 yrs/$169,500 with the following:

" 15% Trade Kicker
Has Designated Rookie Extension language, can trigger up to 30% of cap if earns All-NBA team in 2019-20 season
No All-NBA: $170M (25%)
All-NBA 3rd team: $190M (28%)
All-NBA 2nd team: $196.8M (29%)
All-NBA 1st team: $203.6M (30%)"

No trade kicker and no designated rookie extension language for Siakam. Straight 4 yrs/$129,920.

He probably meant to say that Siakam could go end-to-end with the ball "using the least amount of steps".

Honestly, the guy just grabs the defensive rebound and like 7 steps later, he's dunking on the opposing net.

It's impossible to draw a charge on the guy or try to beat him to his path because he's like Stretch Armstrong AND the Flash combined.

I dont think he is worth a max but as a Raptors fan there is no other choice I guess. What is bizarre is that they did this when he is a RFA, I dont really understand why. They could have just signed him next off season or matched any offer.
