Kevin Durant Details Numerous Factors For Leaving Warriors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Oct 31, 2019 3:54 pm

During an extensive interview on ESPN's First Take, Kevin Durant gave a detailed explanation of why he decided to leave the Golden State Warriors.

"I just felt like I needed a switch," said Durant. "I felt like a lot of stuff in Golden State had reared its head. It was just going to be the end no matter what, especially for that group. Shaun Livingston was retiring. Andre Iguodala was getting older. Our contracts were going to stifle the team and put us in a hole to get other players. It was just time to kind of separate."

Durant also spoke about how his confrontation with Draymond Green made his pending free agency a larger story than he thought it needed to be throughout the season.

KD and the dubs need to just move on from each other, he's on a different team now.

Acting like an ex-girlfriend trying to dig up shyt and put it out on public to make themselves the better person or victim of a fail relationship. Just move on :noway: concentrate on your own team.

I appreciate what positive, great milestones and championships KD has helped the warriors get. But they have split, he's on a different team and dubs are trying to adjust based on injuries and the 10 new players they have on their team. Stop talking to media outlets about each other or the past. Past is past, turn the page on move on.

KD is acting like the Warriors needed him more than he needed the Warriors. The Warriors were already a team that were title contenders. Adding KD put them over the edge. Can't wait to see how he handles Kyrie's mood swings if he couldn't even handle Draymond getting in his face.

1. The Warriors and KD needed each other. KD just lost too the Warriors and Warriors just lost to Lebron. It's not as if OKC was a bad team, they should've made the finals that year instead of GSW if Green was suspended like he should've been.
2. Kyrie's mood swings is a different ball game. Kyrie gets down and wants to be alone. Draymond gets loud and wants to be in your face. KD also gets down and wants to be left alone. Most likely he will be comfortable with one of his best friends than a friend who calls him a bitch on national TV.

The press asks the questions. What's he supposed to do, decline to answer. Durant, for all the **** he gets, is a pretty straight up guy. He'll generally tell you what's on his mind unless it will undermine his current team. One flaw with that is when he does decline to answer questions, it generally means the **** is about to hit the fan with his own team, but he does generally speak his mind.

KD needed warriors more than warriors needed KD. warriors losing to lebron made for better competition.. it made the finals mean something... adding KD, everyone knew they were going to win.. it was like why bother playing... warriors could've beat lebron without KD.. it wasnt like lebron and the cavs dominated the warriors.. a bounce here and a bounce there, the results would be different.... which makes it a more entertaining product to watch..

I agree with what you said. KD needed them more BUT Warriors still need him or Lebron COULD have beaten them. People make it sound like it was one-sided but KD help paid for their new stadium with two guaranteed championships and almost a third.

They could've beaten the Cavs in a repeat, but it gets tougher to beat a team when they have the momentum. The Warriors barely got by the Thunder, and if the Thunder did get by the Warriors... Could they beat the Cavs? I doubt they would've. The Warriors knew it was over, and that's why they recruited Durant to help beat the Cavs. LeBron was peaking, and so was Kyrie... The Warriors saw what was happening, and you should too.

the guaranteed championships are much more worthless than if they had to fight and clawed to beat lebron and the cavs.. and it's not like they werent capable of doing it... it would be much more entertaining watching another series of warriors vs cavs without KD...
