Rockets Will File Protest To Play Final 7:50 Of Loss To Spurs Over Again

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Dec 6, 2019 2:10 am

The Houston Rockets will file an official protest with the league office regarding a dunk by James Harden that was incorrectly called a missed field goal.

The Rockets went on to lose the game 135-133 in double overtime to the San Antonio Spurs.

Houston had hoped the NBA would take action without a protest being necessary.

The Rockets now hope that the final seven minutes and 50 seconds of the game will be replayed with Houston up by 15 points.

LOL! I'm all for it as long as teams can now replay games where Harden flops, kicks out his leg to create contact, travels, etc. *sigh*

Replay a game where they lost a 20+ point lead, they are just out of their minds. It was a missed call, there will always be missed calls in a game because the referees are human and won't be able to catch everything.

I would have filed a grievance to have the NBA admit they missed the call and change the rules where these types of plays should be reviewable during the next dead ball. Similar to how they can go and check if a 3pt was really a 3pt or if the player stepped on the line.

They will get nowhere requesting to replay the game after the basket.

This will never happen for Houston. It just opens up a whole can of worms.
Kobe Bryant forever
GO LAKERS
8-)
I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

So does that means the Spurs can file a protest against the blatant back court violation the Rockets committed in the lead up to Chandler's dunk at the end of the third quarter?

The NBA should fine them for being whiners.

I'd be fine with this solution. You could easily implement it fairly. If victim team gets the ball back (Houston in this case), they get the greater of what they scored on that possession or two points. If the other team gets the ball back (SA in this case) then Houston just gets two points. That's probably the most fair solution.

That said, we know there are errors in officiating every game that account for way more than two points even if you only count clearly bad calls and don't dive into the weeds on 50/50 calls. This situation is so rare, that if the league says they don't want to open up pandora's box and let more play calls be reversed off court or after the fact then I'd be fine with that too.

Good Lord.....Get over it.

There are mistakes in EVERY game, should they replay them all?
People already don't care for the rockets and Harden's style of play, this just makes the whole organization look like a bunch of babies.

Maybe don’t whine for 30 seconds before challenging the call...

After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.
