Zion Williamson Will 'Very Likely' Be Held Out Of Back-To-Back Games Upon Return

David Griffin said that Zion Williamson will be held out of back-to-back games when he returns from injury.

"He very likely will not be asked to take the pounding of back-to-backs initially. There will be a sort of ramp-up for him to getting back to where you would call him full strength, but he's certainly going to be playing, and we're trying to win basketball games," said Griffin during a team broadcast.

It has been a little over six weeks since Williamson had surgery on a miniscus tear in his knee.

Williamson has returned to doing on-court work, including light walk-throughs with the team, a source told Andrew Lopez of ESPN.

already eyeing load management before the kid even gets on the court? NBA needs to just do away with b2b's but zion should be going 100% when he returns...these guys are basketball players and unless you have a chronic knee issue i don't want to hear it. and even then

Why on earth would you ask a player to go 100 percent after Knee surgery? A Rookie at that. That's how you develop....chronic knee issues.

Just sit him out the year then play next season @ 100%. I see no reason why he is even being rushed back honestly... I anticipate zion being load managed for some time.
