The Thursday night game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks averaged 2.8 million viewers on TNT, reported Turner Sports. The Bucks beat the Lakers 111-104 in the game.

It was the most-watched NBA regular-season game on TNT since January 2018, which featured the Warriors playing the Cavs.

The Bucks-Lakers game also represented a 150% increase from last year's game in the same slot between the Rockets and Heat.

The NBA makes $2.6 billion annually from their current television rights between ESPN and Turner.

Why do you only have the Lakers logo?

The network finally put an interesting matchup in the first game of the national doubleheader where people could actually watch at a decent hour.
The league and talking heads all think putting star players in big markets will help ratings when in fact they just need to show good games especially in the lead in game. Taking Giannis out of Milwuakee or LeBron moving from Cleveland to LA does not help ratings.
