Knicks Show Interest In Acquiring 'Starter-Level' Player, Could Keep Marcus Morris For Long-Term

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jan 9, 2020 6:58 am

The New York Knicks are interested in acquiring starter-level players who can help the team both in the short- and long-term, league sources told Ian Begley of SNY.

Teams who have been in trade talks with the Knicks came away believing that they aren't just focused on acquiring future draft picks or young players.

SNY also adds that the Knicks are impressed by Marcus Morris and believe he could have a long-term future with the team.

Morris has also been the subject of trade speculation

And this is why the Knicks remain in obscurity. They won’t pick a plan and stick with it.

Once they were shunned in FA this summer they should of went full rebuild, focusing on the draft.

Long term? As in the end of the season when his contract is up?

Obviously Marcus Morris, who will be 31 at the start of next season and has no history as a star or a great locker room guy, will be an amazing cornerstone for a knicks rebuild.

This is Steve "Clown" Mills scrambling to save his own skin. Yeah yeah, it makes no sense, but then again, has anything he's done directly or indirectly 17 of the last 20 years with the Knicks (in the 3 years Mills wasn't with the Knicks the Knicks actually were mentioned as the biggest threat the the Big 3 in Miami), made any sense?

To all other teams GM's, get your big old immovable contracts tagged to former star players ready...cause Steve Mills be interested. Just have to tell Mills that the player is still a star, he likely won't know the difference. :nonono:

I woke up in a cold sweat screaming "NO! Not John Wall!!!" last night.

Probably as in long term by giving him a super max offer at the end of the season when his contract is up, is my guess.

Mills going to market Love and Wall to Dolan as the saviors of the Knicks. Dolan, the basketball idiot that he himself said he is, likely will eat it up hook, line and stinker.

I'm well aware that this really isn't a "contribution," per se, but it most be said here regardless.

hahahahahahahahhahhahahahahahhahhaha

EDIT:
Ok, just to make an actual contribution to the the thread; It's interesting to note that the Knicks are just now looking at finding "Starter-Level" players.

As in, weren't they wanting to be competitive going into the season this year? Did they not realize at that partciular time that "Starter-Level" players were kind of a prerequisite for playing competitive basketball?
