The New Orleans Pelicans have backed away from trade discussions and are focused on making the playoffs, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

"They have really pulled back in trade talks among all their players. They want to make the playoffs," said Wojnarowski on Sportscenter.

The Pelicans, who are currently 3.5 games out of the 8th seed, have the easiest schedule in the league the rest of the season.

Jrue Holiday was reportedly available earlier this year.

Zion Williamson is expected to make his Pelicans debut on Wednesday against the Spurs.

It's obviously not the best move but it's the move that focuses on revenue generation and keeping jobs for now.

Sounds like the same mistakes they made with Anthony Davis. They should be selling high on their vets and trying to pair Zion with young future stars. Looking to the future instead of the now.

If you are that high on Zion, presumably you can chase a playoff spot even if you trade a couple of veterans.
