T wolves just abandoning the PG spot (who will ball handle now, culver?)
Denver just grabs a 1st rounder (15 or 16th pick basically) for throwing a few end of bench guys and taking back filler contracts
And Atlanta grabs a good young player at a position of need who is locked up for a few years.
Houston is hoping for a Rock Paper Scissors scenario, because any team with a center will rock them
T-Wolves have been grooming Culver for point guard all season, and Wiggins was playing at his best when he was leading the offense as a point forward. It still looks like they are praying for a trade for Russell though.
Teams have been trying to snag Beasley from the Nuggets since last season. And that pick looks to be closer to 21 not 15. That's still a plus move for the Nuggets, and I think they won the trade.
Collins' best position in today's NBA is at center, so I don't see how this move helps the Hawks. I suppose it gives them more flexibility with future trades, more than that Brooklyn pick will.
The Rockets have been holding down the top of their division all season going small, and their biggest weakness has been lack of spacing, not size. Covington's wingspan is 7-2, close to most NBA centers' length, so they don't lose much in terms of length. And the Rockets have been successfully employing Tucker at center. With his NBA center weight and low center of gravity, most centers haven't been able to take advantage of his lack of height like you'd think they could. Plus Bell is a solid shot blocker for his height as well. If anything, this gives them more of an edge in the frontcourt.
