The Los Angeles Lakers and DeMarcus Cousins have mutual interest in signing a new contract this coming offseason.

Cousins was waived by the Lakers over the weekend to create a roster spot for Markieff Morris.

Cousins has been rehabbing his torn ACL with the Lakers and will continue to do so.

Cousins, however, cannot travel with the Lakers or sit on their bench any longer.

Very nice. It was great seeing him on the bench at every game home or on the road. Being part of the team. Ive watched all his practice videos too w the lakers and it is just encouraging. I was sad to hear him cut but im hopeful he will be back. Love to see him part of the team again (and glad that Lakers are still partnering w him and letting him rehab at our facilities).

This is great, I really enjoyed his presence at the end of the bench this yes. Get back healthy and come back strong next year.

It’s a great idea that they did this. Because I think rehab is the most important. If they kept him on the roster he may have tried to rush back and that’s not necessary especially after the last two injuries that occurred.

but there is no reason the Lakers can't get Boogie some seats just behind the bench.
