Adam Silver informed the NBA's Board of Governors that July 31st is a target date for the return of the 19-20 season.
It has been previously reported that the NBA was targeting mid-July for the resumption of the season.

Depends on whether reopening everything kicks of a second wave of the virus, even if they're in a "bubble environment", that's still going to present a problem as there will need to be hundreds if not thousands of people involved and in close contact. But hey, might as well set a goal and adjust from there if needed. It does seem likely at least 20% of 2020-21 RS games will be lost because I don't see them rolling right into next season after this one ends, meaning it's probably late December or January before they start a new season.
Also curious how this schedule will affect the lottery and draft, I assume the draft can't happen until the previous season is done.
