Windhorst: Jayson Tatum Will 'Most Likely' Receive Max Contract Offer After This Season

Jayson Tatum will likely receive a max contract offer from the Boston Celtics, according to Brian Windhorst.

Tatum will be eligible for a contract extension after this season.

"If Jayson Tatum is the superstar that they envisioned when they began this whole rebuilding process when they traded Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce for all of those draft picks hoping to land a player like this, we could see 'Glory Days' for the Celtics again.

"But it's very much up in the air, and I'm gonna tell ya, they're gonna have to pay him like it because after this season ends, he is going to get most likely a max contract. They're going to bet that he becomes that player," said Windhorst on Sportscenter.

Tatum is set to earn $9.9 million next season.

Not news. Max for a 4-year player isn't high. It's a given if a player makes an All-Star team in their first four years.

Only 4 player in that draft deserve max. Bam, Tatum, spyder and fox. Lonzo will get it but doesn't deserve the max neither Collins rest are good not game changers players

Tatum is one of the best young players in the game who already has playoff experience. Is anyone following basketball not expecting the Celtics to lock him for the foreseeable future.

Given the likely plummet in the cap it should be a cheap max too!

Lonzo will not get paid max.. Who will offer him max if the Pelicans dont? Come on.. The pelicans are already maxing Ingram..
