Players Must Notify Teams By June 24th If They Want To Skip Return-To-Play

The NBA has notified players that anyone who chooses not to play in the resumed 19-20 season must notify his team by June 24th.

Compensation for players who choose to not participate will be reduced by 1/92.6 for each game missed.

There will be eight seeding games before the start of the playoffs.

This is the most fair way to do it. Anyone who doesn't want to play doesn't have to play. They will just lose out on a little bit of money for 8 games of the regular season its pretty minimal loss for them.

I think its safe to say at least a few players won't want to go thru the process to play if they don't feel like their team is in a position to make a playoff run.

I expect any healthy players from teams with .600+ winning % to play.

You just know that people are going to question the competitive fire of anybody who chooses not to play and hasn’t already won a chip. Especially any star players who sits out.
