Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 26, 2020 3:04 pm

The NBA registered 16 positive COVID-19 tests out of 302 NBA players.

Tests were administered earlier this week.

Any player who tested positive will remain in self-isolation until he satisfies public health protocols for discontinuing isolation and has been cleared by a physician.

Again a European player is predictably RealGM's poster boy for infected NBA players. Perhaps RealGM wants to argue that Nikola Jokic is more popular than Kevin Durant? And it seems that suddenly it's unfashionable for RealGM to antagonize Lebron James. RealGM passed on KD and Lebron for lowly Nikola Jokic as the player in the article's photo. If Luka Doncic refuses to return to the US, only Mark Cuban can save him from anointment as the next poster boy for blame and ridicule by NBA ownership, though if Trump barks at Doncic on a bad day, there's nothing Cuban can do.

I'd love to know who owns RealGM...though it wouldn't be hard to imagine...

5+% sounds about right for a copy and paste announcement, but it has to be a lie.
I think that is probably significantly sugar coated with plenty of missing data.

I think the U.S. and world starts are sugar coated as well. We've just about all had it or are going to have it to some degree. Not saying it'll kill us but it spreads too easy

People who reference RealGM as if it's more than a microcosm of national sports coverage need to escape the tiny bubble they live in.

There's no such thing as a COVID test, its a SARS-2-COV test.

This is prize journalism folks.

Would be interesting to know how what severity of symptoms, if any, those 16 players have experienced.

Here's the ESPN article

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/29369877/16-302-nba-players-test-positive-coronavirus

The player names were not disclosed; some players, such as Malcolm Brogdon of Indiana and Sacramento teammates Jabari Parker and Alex Len, have publicly acknowledged they recently tested positive.

Presumably if any player is known to have tested positive, it's because they said so themselves. And if anyone's wondering if there is a cause for concern:

Commissioner Adam Silver said the numbers were roughly as expected and that none of the 16 were seriously ill.

maybe bc neither of those guys are among the 16 that have tested positive for COVID? why would REAL GM run a picture of LeBron or KD when the article is about how many & which players have tested positive?

there's no "antagonizing" going on here. nobody's being blamed for NBA players getting infected. It's just that Jokic is easily the most noteworthy name that was given. That's kina the way headlines/marquees work - they're meant to grab attn ...

Thank You!! -LoL- players were either tested (302) or not tested (he rest) and the results were either positive (16) or not positive (the rest that were tested). not really any data to hide here ...

plus, based on his usage, dude doesn't really understand what sugarcoat means

Understanding here is something you are missing...
I get why since niether of you clearly understand the transmission rate is constant.
If you pass a test today you can get infected 10 minutes afterwards in the restroom on your way out the door.
testing is also proven to be unreliable with many false negatives already documented and it is causing a significant problem with contact tracing.

Huh? You are not making any sense. Where's the lie and sugarcoating on part of NBA in what you said?

They are saying 16 players out of 302 tested positive during initial round of testing. It's a statement of simple facts. Unless you are saying they doctored the testing results, there can be no lie or sugarcoating of simple statement as to the facts of testing results, which everyone was interested to find out.

Yeah, every reasonable person knows a player can get the virus after testing or that there can be false negatives but what does that have to do with their announcing of testing results? That's quite frankly out of NBA's control and that's why they set it up with frequent testing and gave themselves a runway of over a month. They got too much riding on this to risk cancellation of the season due to spread of the virus among players, coaches, and team staff and will do everything in their power to identify those with the virus as early as possible and quarantine them. You'd have to be pretty out there to not realize this.

The only thing missing here is logic and common sense on your part and the lie is your conspiracy theorist fear mongering.

lie= false negatives gauranteed and all based on only 1 test.
sugarcoating= steering readers into believing a safe return to play is a reasonable expectation by announcing this bs.
All this restart is at this point with the rapid increase in mass cases in Florida and throughout the south is abosultely all about narcisistic owners and greedy investors trying to get out of the red. At this point it is risking lives for $ of their own investments in players because of irrational assumptions about covid testing and distancing practices./ not for the sake of entertainment as if life risking would somehow be more justified for that reason along with it.
Personally I would not play , stick it to the man.
fyi I bet zero owners are in the bubble except maybe Cuban
