Damian Lillard Sits Scrimmage With Foot Inflammation, Not Expected 'To Be A Long-Term Thing'

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 27, 2020 12:53 am

Damian Lillard sat for the Portland Trail Blazers' scrimmage against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday due to inflammation in his foot.

An X-ray on his foot returned negative.

"He does have some inflammation. I don't expect it to be a long-term thing," said Terry Stotts.

The Blazers, who are 3.5 games out of the 8th seed, re-open the season against the Grizzlies on Friday.

Wow! An NBA franchise that doesn't force their star player to play in a Thunderdome scrimmage. Meanwhile the Mavs have no problem starting Doncic in a scrimmage even without their #2 player. Though Doncic is merely 21,he's played pro basketball for 5 years most of which were on contenting playoff teams. As a primary ball handler, Doncic has some mileage on his young body.

Pop has it right with the Spurs. He views Thunderdome as an opportunity to develop under-developed younger players.
