China Continues To Blackout Rockets' Games As Series Against Lakers Begins

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Sep 5, 2020 12:37 am

The first game of the Western Conference Semifinal series between the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets will not be broadcast in China via CCTV or Tencent.

Games involving the Rockets have been banned from Chinese television all season following Daryl Morey's Tweet supporting Hong Kong during the NBA preseason.

I'm hoping the Rockets get swept and Fertitta decides to fire Morey and trade Harden.

Their own people should get more salty. I'm sure with 1.4 billion people they could easily rally 5 million with sledgehammers if nothing else to gather around whatever building houses their salty af rulers and drop the building upon them forthwith. But too busy yelling and waving their cool paper burning lasers at rallies there. Oops there is only 7.4 million in Hong Kong. 5 million paper burning lasers might do the trick as well.

Coincidentally, English Premier League just terminated their contract with the Chinese broadcaster as well. Those state-owned TV providers had too much manipulations on their own people. The people there can cheer for Jeremy Lin all day long now, good for them.

If I am not wrong, using a vpn is illegal in China.

Did you really just post a lineup with the starting 2 guard being JR Smith?

Our actual management posted a lineup with the starting 2 guard being Tony Snell.

Many supported the players refusing to play for the black lives matter issue, citing their right to protest, to use their status to try to create change.

Would people have supported them refusing to play to protest the atrocities the Chinese government is doing to people in Hong Kong (edit)?

Do we support them refusing to play, or just refusing to play for causes we agree with?

China has been undermining American media, infiltrating and using social media to drive polarization for 10 years. This is just the overt stuff, the subtle stuff is way scarier.

Would people have supported them refusing to play to protest the atrocities the Chinese government is doing to people in Taiwan?

Well yes I would.. I will say this again though there was a chance to elect a real change candidate in Bernie and I saw no NBA players out there advocating for Bernie who would of made real beneficial change for all and especially the black community

Hong Kong, not Taiwan.
