Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart Had Heated Confrontation After Game 2 Loss

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Sep 18, 2020 2:13 pm

Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart had a heated confrontation following their Game 2 loss to the Miami Heat and had to be separated by teammates, multiple sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Smart stormed into the locker room saying that other players needed to be held accountable.

As Smart continued and his voice grew louder, Brown shouted that players must stay together and that their actions must come as a team and not individually.

Objects were thrown around during the interaction between Smart and Brown with teammates diffusing the situation before a physical altercation could take place. Smart and Brown have smoothed over tensions.

“They will move past this and focus on the task,” a source said late Thursday.

Smart also had verbal exchanges with a couple of assistant coaches during the game.

Cohesive teams fight back after going down 2-0, even if they lose in 7.

Brown seems like a true leader Smart was pissed off at his team and Brown stood up for the rest of the guys and told Smart that we need to "stay together"

If that gesture doesn't make you play harder not sure what will.

Celtics grew complacent after defeating the 76rs & defending champ Raptors - the loss of hayward compounds that complacency.

Game 3 is a MUST win for the Celtics -- Miami is playing with poise, confidence and a gritty attitude. The key for the Celtics is for Kemba walker to regain his shooting touch from 3pt range - Miami has masterfully played a zone defense to keep walker on the perimeter. Unless Kemba starts making those long range attempts, this series will likely go to the Heat.

Will be interesting to see what adjustments Coach Stevens make to break the heat zone defense.

Your absolutely right...Boston has to win game 3 to have any chance. History says Boston has no chance if they go down 3 games but on top of that, I don't think there is a chance in hell that Boston can beat the Heat in 4 straight games with the way Jimmy is playing. Can't stand him but he is playing great.
