Billy Donovan's Contract With Bulls Worth $24M Over Four Seasons

The Chicago Bulls agreed to hire Billy Donovan this week as head coach.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports Donovan's deal is worth more than $24 million over four seasons.

The Bulls had Fred Hoiberg on a contract worth approximately $5 million per season, while Jim Boylen made just $1.6 million per season. Only $1 million of Boylen's contract for 20-21 was guaranteed before he was fired, according to reports.

Donovan has had the luxury / benefit of having some of the best talent in the league - from Durant,Westbrook, Paul George, Melo, Oladipo, Sabonis to CP3. Arguably several of the top players in the league.

Given that he has never coached a roster without a top-flight player, very curious hiring by the Bulls.

Would have loved to have seen the Bulls bring on Mavs Jahmal Mosely, former Nets Coach Atkinson or Spurs Becky / Will Hardy instead.

Unless the Bulls have something up their sleave by way of trade / free agency, will be interesting to see the outcome.

Hopefully Coach BD can revive a storied franchise.
