The Orlando Magic have expressed interest in trading for Dennis Smith Jr.

The New York Knicks acquired Smith as part of the 2019 Kristaps Porzingis trade.

The Magic own the No. 15 overall draft selection.

I feel like this is probably just Smith’s agent trying to get his client somewhere he will play so he can get another contract.

There is zero chance the Magic are going to include the 15th pick in a trade for DSJ when Smith has negative value.

The rumor is the #8 pick is coming back as the Knicks are looking to trade back. So it’s bigger than just DSjr.

maybe some kind of Frankenstein project, combining Fultz's instincts and savvy with Smith's hops and intact shooting shoulder. (actually, these guys are supposedly pretty tight friends, and maybe looking to mutually complement a long term development/rehab regimen.)

That I would believe, but this snippet makes it sound like DSJ is the primary asset in the deal when most if not all teams would view him as bad salary.
