The New York Knicks could be interested in a potential trade for Russell Westbrook this offseason if he becomes available, according to some agents who spoke with Ian Begley of SNY.tv.

Westbrook viewed New York as a welcome landing spot in 2019 when the Oklahoma City Thunder pursued a trade of him.

Westbrook has three seasons and $132 million remaining on his contract with the Houston Rockets.

So he’ll cost assets, eat cap, average a triple-double and they’ll still miss the playoffs. Sounds about right for a Knicks move.

Trading assets, and any hope for a sustainable, consistent future, for a guy who will only be looking for stats and money instead of winning?

No...Knicks have never done that. I'm sure if they did, it would've resulted in playoff success every year.

Antonio McDyess, Amar'e Stoudemire, Penny Hardaway, Glen Rice, Vin Baker, Jason Kidd, Kenyon Martin. And now possibly Russell Westbrook. It makes sense...

When will Dolan sell the Knicks?

Westbrook is healthy, stillin his prime (i think) and fits with today's NBA. He loves fashion and LOVES to statpad. its a good situation for him.

Not to doubt the full extent of the Knicks’ incompetence, but what could they trade that would be 1) of interest to Houston and 2) match salaries with Westbrook?

Classic begley and his mongering a big name with the Knicks.

Rather have cp that can teach the game to the young guns unlike Westbrook who is just an athletic freak of nature on the wrong side of 30.

Sounds like a perfect match for each other. Knox + Portis + protected 1st for Russ.
