Knicks Open To Taking Back 'Undesirable Contracts' For Assets Via Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Oct 28, 2020 5:32 am

The New York Knicks are reportedly open to trading for "undesirable contracts" in order to acquire assets, sources told Ian Begley of SNY.

The Knicks could have more than $60 million of cap space this offseason depending on what they do with several player options.

NBA teams are still waiting for a final number on next season's cap, with that information expected later this week.

SNY adds that there is no consensus on whether the Knicks will look to compete next season or play for the 2021 draft.

The Knicks have been linked with trades for Chris Paul, Victor Oladipo, and Russell Westbrook thus far.

When have we done that???

We've definitely taken on undesirable contracts, but usually we give up assets for those bad contracts attached to over the hill former stars. This article is suggesting that we'd be willing to use our capspace to take on a teams bad contract in turn for a pick or solid young player, which is something we NEVER do.
Go Knicks!

Meh, just someone who doesn't know Knicks stuff.

Normally Knicks are ones trading young players, assets, and a promising future for a selfish player who is impossible to build around, and won't provide help towards winning games.

Or they're the ones giving out undesirable contacts to underserving players
