Anthony Davis Might Be Waiting On Giannis Supermax Decision Before Deciding Contract Type

Anthony Davis is in a waiting pattern on his contract terms with the Los Angeles Lakers, which could be connected to the supermax decision Giannis Antetokounmpo is weighing with the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Bucks have been "operating under the belief" that Antetokounmpo will sign a supermax, but nothing has been agreed upon.

"I think there are two star players waiting to sign to see what Giannis does," said Brian Windhorst on ESPN Radio. "That's Anthony Davis. He's coming back to the Lakers, but he may change the alteration of his contract, the way it's structured, to give the Lakers a window, if not for Giannis but for somebody in a one-plus-one. Because that's what LeBron is now on.

"And Bam Adebayo. If Bam Adebayo signs a max contract, the Heat will not have the room. But if he waits a year, than they will."

Adebayo shares an agent with Antetokounmpo in Alex Saratsis.

Rumors are Giannis plans to sign his supermax, but that was based on news the Bucks had both Jrue and Bogdan. He'll prolly wait until Dec 21 now as other teams such as Lakers, Heat, and others line up and send out signals as well as build their 2021 team.

Hard to see him giving MIL a vote of confidence by signing with them long term. Botching the Bogi deal probly sealed their fate. It's not like they have legitimate avenues to improve the next few years; and the team as constructed is not worthy of his talent.

I think the Giannis sweepstakes is in full swing.

All the Holiday trade will end up doing is making them a basement dweller for the foreseeable future. Jrue's not sticking arnd if Giannis leaves. Their only chance at recuperating from their massive overpay will be to trade Giannis. And the longer they wait, the worse the return will be.

yea, weather and foreign country is not going to be an issue with toronto for giannis. being from toronto, i m pretty certain it's not that different from wisconsin if not better. and being in america is already a foreign country to giannis. if anything there's a prominent greek town/population that he'll feel right at home.
