Jared Dudley Agrees To One-Year, $2.6M Deal With Lakers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Dec 1, 2020 12:02 am

Jared Dudley has agreed to a one-year, $2.6 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Dudley appeared in 45 regular season games and nine playoff games.

Dudley is widely considered one of the NBA's best veterans in the locker room.

Huge Power shift. Unbelievable. Just cancel the games already and give them the trophy. I'm done with the league. Not gonna watch a single game until Adam Silver does something about parity. It's destroying the game.

Lakers need to try to keep as much continuity as possible, especially after losing (4) players from last year's championship squad!

And Dudley should get even more minutes this upcoming season, if the Lakers can get 10+ point leads with less than 2 minutes to go...!

Lakers didn't want to give Dwight his 3 mil. Traded a center Mcgee (arguably better than Marc) and a 2nd pick just to make room for Marc Gasol. And then they give Dudley $2.6M? Low key lost at what the FO is trying to do.

the combined IQ from Dwight + Mcgee is still less than Dudley's

They resign him but wouldn't resign Rondo or Avery?

That was my first thought as well! I feel like I've heard of him in the NBA for ages! He's 35, Lebron is a few months older than Dudley.

He signed for the vet minimum, which means even though he gets $2.6M, he only counts $1.5M against the hard cap.

Lakers have somewhere under $2m left under the hard cap, which they will probably save for buy outs.

If the Lakers resigned either Rondo or Bradly, they're matched salary would have put them over the hard cap.
