NBA Won't Randomly Test Players For Marijuana During 20-21 Season

The NBA will not test players for marijuana during the 20-21 season. The league similarly did not test players during the restart in Orlando.

The NBA, however, will test for cause with past offenders or those who have given reasonable cause to suspect use.

While the decision is largely rooted in limiting unnecessary contacts during COVID-19, there is a significant expectation that the testing program will be phased out altogether in the near future.

Player’s Union agreed in a vote of 363-to-1.

Now when the TV commentators are saying that the player is "flying high" they don't mean dunking the ball anymore.

I can't believe they were really testing in the first place, there wouldn't be a league.

After the first wave of tests, they would've brought back to Silver and he'd be like:

"Well now, we can't exactly have 185 players sit out this weekend.. let's just throw this report in the garbage. No more tests please."
