Dwane Casey Says Killian Hayes To Start At Point Guard

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Dec 6, 2020 7:16 pm

Killian Hayes will open the season as the starting point guard of the Detroit Pistons, according to Dwane Casey.

Hayes was the seventh pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Derrick Rose recently stated that he looked forward to being a mentor to Hayes

Team's gonna have a weird lineup. Is Wright playing the 2? Grant the 3? Seems like half the starting lineup will be playing out of position, though a quick Blake trade changes all that up.

While Casey is one of my favorite coaches, I’m never a fan of throwing a rookie into the fire from the start, especially at PG.

Hopefully it goes well and Motor City is on the up and up.

Going to be hard to trade Blake IMO. Not just because of his large contract but because he has a player option for 2021-22.

Seems weird to throw your very raw rookie PG into the fire while not having big minutes around for more ready players like Sekou and Saddiq Bey. Not to mention Delon Wright and D Rose, though maybe those guys are just trade fodder.

I wouldn't say they more ready than Hayes, Hayes led a team in Europe
