NBA Determined To Play G League Season In Reduced Bubble

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Dec 18, 2020 2:24 am

The NBA is determined to find a way to play a G League season despite health and financial concerns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The primary motivation is to make sure the league-run Ignite team, featuring several top prospects in the 2021 NBA draft, is successful in its pilot season.

The team features Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga and others.

In order to support a season, the G League plans to mimic the NBA's "bubble" model, and is eyeing Atlanta as its temporary home after also considering Orlando, Florida.

The G League has received commitments from about a dozen teams, including the Ignite.

The average G League salary pays approximately $35,000, while Green will be paid up to $500,000.
