Luke Kennard, Clippers Agree To Four-Year, $64M Extension

The Los Angeles Clippers and Luke Kennard have agreed to a four-year, $64 million extension.

Kennard was traded by the Detroit Pistons to the Clippers this offseason.

What are the clippers doing?!?? I thought the Paul George deal was bad..

It'll only be about 12 percent of the cap going forward. As long as he continues to improve and can either be a very good sixth man or a solid starter I think the money is okay. I'd probably want a team option on that last year though.

I would really like to know your opinion, what SHOULD the Clippers do? Can't see why its a problem they extend with one of their fairly young assets. Should they let him go for nothing? Even if Kawhi leaves the Clippers don't have the money to sign stars, and they will also not go full rebuild since they don't have draft picks. The only risk here is the injuries, but if they consider it a serious issue, they would have not traded for him in the first place.

Seems like an unreasonable amount of guaranteed money for a guy with his injury history and who did his scoring on a bad pistons team. I guess the deal isn’t THAT bad but it seems like la was bidding against themselves here. I guess it’s fine

What on earth are the current GMs of the league thinking?

Kennard had 1 "breakout" season on a bad team ( Detroit ) -- rewarded with $16m per season?

Bizzare signing
