Warriors Unlikely To Bring Justinian Jessup Back From Australia This Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Feb 4, 2021 4:27 pm

The Golden State Warriors drafted Justinian Jessup out of Boise State in the second round in the 2020 draft with the intent of him playing his season for the Illawarra Hawks in Australia.

Jessup is averaging 14.5 points on 58.8 percent shooting on three-pointers to go with 4.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 29.7 minutes per game.

Jessup is playing well enough to think he could help the Warriors this season, especially with Klay Thompson out and there being a lack of quality perimeter shooting on the wing.

“No, not really,” Jessup said on whether he’d been approached about this option. “I think the plan is to develop here. Hopefully I can get an opportunity back in the States next year.”

Jessup is trying to model his game after Duncan Robinson.

“Duncan Robinson, when he broke out last year, I took notice of that and watched all his clips,” Jessup said. “In the bubble, I watched him even more closely. He’s just a guy whose skill set I’m very similar to and he’s obviously carved out a nice role for himself on the Heat.”
