NBA Likely To Reduce Testing, Mandatory Quarantines For Vaccinated Players
During a Tuesday conference call with general managers, Adam Silver suggested NBA players could start receiving the COVID-19 vaccine in late March and early April. That is considered a fluid timeline currently.
The NBA shared with teams an expectation of 70 to 100 million vaccine doses likely distributed by mid-March.
Silver also told GMs that the COVID-19 testing process and any potential quarantine periods could be loosened for those players who choose to vaccinate.
According to ESPN, those measures would be consistent with CDC recommendations.
The NBA has lost 30 games to virus-related postponements this season and concerns over short and long-term health impact on infected players remain.
