Daryl Morey: I'm Worried About Winning, Not Worried About How

The Philadelphia 76ers are shooting fewer three-pointers than they have in years despite the arrival of Daryl Morey to run the front office.

Morey has been associated with three-pointers, shots at the rim and free throws, but the 76ers have built their offense around Joel Embiid in the post.

“I’m worried about winning,” Morey tells TrueHoop. “I’m not worried about how.”

Embiid is the leading candidate to win MVP coming out of the All-Star break, largely by taking fewer threes than ever, ranking third in the league mid-range jumpers, leading the league in post-ups and having his most efficient season to date.

“Really, it’s just using data to make good decisions,” said Morey.

Morey is spot on here. Using data to drive decisions is nothing new nor does it qualify as "thinking outside the box." In fact, it's something we as animals do every minute of every day we are alive. That's why we are alive...
