Celtics Tried To Trade For Nikola Vucevic

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Mar 26, 2021 5:47 pm

The Boston Celtics pursued a trade for Nikola Vucevic before he was moved by the Orlando Magic to the Chicago Bulls. Boston offered multiple first round picks and were a finalist.

Boston was also linked to trade talks with the Magic on Aaron Gordon, who was instead traded to the Denver Nuggets.

The Celtics ultimately traded for Evan Fournier, who had the cheapest asking price by the Magic.

With the Celtics trading away Daniel Theis in a tax saving move, they are pursuing Andre Drummond on the buyout market.

Does the Celtics front office hear themselves?

Do McMullan, Simmons and the rest of their street team understand that Boston has become the butt of their own joke?

Every deal of the last decade, we'll hear a leaked report of how Boston was "a finalist" or "almost there" for a desired player. Give it a rest, the spin control has gone stale.

Cetlics trade away someone making 5m/season to save on tax, but is willing to take onto someone making 25m/yr?

Drummond will be bought out so they'd be paying him the minimum.

Now I am pretty sure this is a "Celtic tried to trade for ..." template that they just replace the latest star free agent name every damn time.

Here we go again.. :D might be a first if they can say they tried to draft Kai Sotto two years from now, that would be the all time low :)

Do you guys think that Danny Ainge could throw a football over that mountain? I bet he would have won state championship had the coach put him in the in fourth quarter.

Sources report that Celtics felt very confident with their lucrative offer centered around a protected 2nd round pick.

95% of bulls fans are happy with the deal they got. So Celtics offer was more lopsided than that? Yikes. Talk about negotiation fail. And honestly Celtics needed vuc a lot more as they are closer to contention. I don’t see Celtics having any legitimate chance to compete with Ainge there the way he is running the team. You’ve gotta be able to take a short term gain for a gamble at a long term loss when you are competing for a top spot. He’s stifling his team at the time he should be injecting them with talent
