Luke Walton does not have a stretch provision in his contract with the Sacramento Kings, which would not allow the team to spread the remaining $11.5 million on his contract over time.

Coaching contracts often include this kind of stretch provision.

The Kings have lost approximately $100 million due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which could factor into their decision making on Walton's future.

Walton maintains a good relationship with Monte McNair and with several key players.

Walton is the fifth head coach of the Kings since Vivek Ranadive bought the team in 2013.

not that Walton is a great coach, but I don't think Kings will have better results in such a competitive western conference with a different coach. They are not making good draft choices, they are not making good trade deals, and player development is suspect.

They passed on Lillard, Mccolum, Myles Turner, Devin Booker, Sabonis, Lavine and Luka (all selected within 4 picks after Kings selection) since 2012.
