Damian Lillard told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports that his preference is for Jason Kidd to be the next coach of the Portland Trail Blazers.

“Jason Kidd is the guy I want,” Lillard told Haynes.

Kidd is currently an assistant coach of the Lakers.

Lillard is expected to be more vocal with his requests, sources told Haynes.

Lillard reportedly respects Kidd's basketball IQ and believes that he can take the Blazers to the next level.

While Lillard prefers Kidd, the Blazers are said to leaning towards Chauncey Billups.

Sure hard to imagine them going against what Dame wants. I'd think the only way that happens is if they bring in both and let Lillard be part of the interview process and let Chauncey change his mind.

A great player, but Dame is clueless/naive in thinking Kidd is what they need to get over the top.

Just a few months ago, he made a big stink about Vanterpoole not getting the job in MIN, and he’s available.

I guess Damw wants him to be a head coach, just not HIS head coach.

It would be real tough for the Blazers to go against Dame's wishes and expect him to stay quiet about it.

+10000 lol. They made it sound like Vanterpoole was the best ever walked the earth but didn't get a chance due to his skin color, until they get to make that decision.

Absolutely. Now I know Dame is delusional. Olshey needs to call up OKC and see if they're ready to part with that kitchen sink!

Correct MJ was asking for players when he was at the bulls and the front office thankfully ignored him.. most players are bad GMs with a few exceptions.. Magic Isaiah poor.. LBJ well he has been a good seudo GM one of the few exceptions but for the main part star players are bad gms.. And Jason Kidd is a bad coach..
