The Los Angeles Lakers promised Andre Drummond a starting role with the team when they signed him after clearing waivers, according to two sources. The promise reportedly helped secure Drummond's commitment.

While the Lakers continued to start Drummond during the regular season and in the playoffs, he did not play at all in their Game 6 elimination.

Drummond will be a free agent this offseason.

Too bad. Lakers played much better with either Davis or Gasol as their 5.

Forget Gasol, Trez, and Drummond - all 3 will be gone this summer and were all bad fits. Who they missed desperately was McGee and Howard. Both of these 2 dudes were lob threats, rim protectors, insane rebounders, good pick and roll defenders, and were fine playing 10-15 minutes a night. They got cute in the offseason and it backfired.

They'll get cute again this summer. What else is new. It's Los Angeles and LeBron is pulling all the strings. But there's a new king in town. Brooklyn not going anywhere. No matter what happens there going to do everything possible to stay 1 step ahead of Bron. Drummond could be on his way to Brooklyn. Or Harrell. I think the Lakers fit was bad. In a new environment both can play well.

What would the nets even need either of them for?

DeAndre Jordan isn't hardly playing. He's like years older then what his role is. Buy him out and see how Harrell fits if not Drummond. Someone has to sign them. Similar to cousins career now. They're going to play just who's willing to add them on
