Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:32 pm

The United States have received three additional commitments for their Tokyo Olympics roster.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the United States received commitments on Tuesday from Khris Middleton and Kevin Love. Love was a member of the 2012 team.

Chris Paul has also committed to the team, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Paul previously participated in the Olympics in 2008 and 2012.

Umm... that's nice but why should the U.S. basketball team be committed to Kevin Love, after his terrible season? There are at least 50 better choices, if not more.

If CP3 plays then half the top players won't join. Thanks a lot, Chris.

The Olympics to Kevin Love - "Thank you for your past service, but we want players who can still play at a high level."

None of these three should be playing given their age, injury histories, or lack of rest.

Russell Westbrook, Jimmy Butler, Brandon Ingram, Zach Lavine, Jerami Grant, Zion, and Julius Randle would be better fits.

A poor shooting, poor decision maker like RWB would be terrible in international rules playing beside superior teammates. He'd hijack things with bad decisions far too often

Paul's IQ, shooting and overall skill are an excellent fit as is Middleton's all-around skill on both sides of the ball.

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.

I think Love wil be one of the most interesting guys on the whole team if they take him. We have no idea what level he can still play at. He's not even trying with Cleveland. He may still have it. May not. But if Cleveland is to have any chance of getting rid of his contract, having him play and show what he can still do is essential. And I'm sure nobody wants to see him traded more than Love himself. He signed up for it, but it has to be a terrible experience for both he and the team.

I agree now, but you can still watch some 2012 olympic games on youtube and chris paul and westbrook provided incredible ball pressure against international guards and it was a boon to the U.S's defense. Russ would come off the bench and get multiple steals back to back some games. Thats definitely not happening anymore, cp3 prolly can't do that anymore either.

I wouldn’t trust Kevin Love to hand out water cups on the sideline
