The NBA is looking to add rules to limit non-basketball moves used to draw fouls, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The rules would be implemented for next season, with players getting a summer to prepare for the changes.

The new rules would center around limiting actions where players on offense look to initiate contact with defenders, including: when a shooter leans into a defender at an unusual angle, when a shooter kicks his leg up at an abnormal angle, and when an offensive player abruptly veers off their path to run into a defender.

Under the new regulations, those actions will either be deemed as offensive fouls or no calls.
