Keon Johnson Breaks NBA Combine Record With 48-Inch Vertical Leap

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jun 24, 2021 1:59 am

Keon Johnson of Tennessee broke Kenny Gregory's 20-year NBA Combine record with a 48-inch vertical leap. Johnson also had a 41.5 inch standing vertical leap.

ESPN's Jonathan Givony currently has Johnson slotted to the Orlando Magic with the eighth overall pick in his latest mock draft

Johnson averaged 11.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 44.9 percent shooting (27.1 percent three-point shooting) in his freshman season at Tennessee.

has anyone ever heard of tis Kenny Gregory?
mean its only been 20 years. The guy must have been an athletic freak. Destined to be a superstar. yet forgotten in history.
Being athletic does not always translate to success at the NBA level.

Sure helps though. I think Keon Johnson is gonna be solid. just not star level

He may end up the steal of the draft.

And there's Kenny "Sky" Walker. Great dunker, elite jumper. No refined basketball skills and not enough feel for the game to function at the NBA level. Dwayne Scales. An absolute freak physically at lSU. Could not play team basketball. Stromile Swift. Physically a man amongst boys. Mentally a boy amongst men. It was actually ironic that his last name was the farthest from the truth with respect to him basketball smarts. Folks used to refer to him as Stromile "Not So" Swift.

Gregory went undrafted, but played in the D-League at the time. Decent player, but not quite good enough to make the NBA.
