Knicks To Pursue Kyle Lowry, Spencer Dinwiddie, Evan Fournier

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 27, 2021 5:55 pm

The New York Knicks are considering a push to sign Spencer Dinwiddie in free agency, but will also pursue Evan Fournier and Kyle Lowry.

The Knicks plan on offering Lowry a two-year contract in the $20 million to $30 million per year range.

Dinwiddie declined his player option for $12.3 million with the Brooklyn Nets. Dinwiddie has also been linked with the New Orleans Pelicans, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers. Dinwiddie will seek $25 million per season in free agency.

Fournier is seeking approximately $18 million per season after finishing last season with the Boston Celtics.

SD is the right move here, still young enough to play into his contract while the other 2 continue decline with their age.

Would be such a Knicks move to sign past their prime aged PG and it end up hurting them more than helping...

Rose and Chris Paul say hi. Also he would be the best point guard Knicks had since well rose and Jason Kidd

I still don't understand the Dinwiddie hype. He's been a low efficiency scorer most of his career. His best ability has been his backcourt versatility, as he can mesh well at either position. Coming off a fairly major injury, the expectation of $25 million per year seems a bit steep. At 28 years old, his peak season may already be behind him. While he may have plenty of solid years ahead, I don't see him returning to near All-Star caliber numbers anytime soon, especially if he joins a playoff team.

Would rather trade garbage for Sexton and sign Oladipo, Danny Green, Avery Bradley, Blake Griffin, and Hassan Whiteside for cheap.
