Warriors Reject 76ers' Offer Of Ben Simmons For Wiseman, Wiggins, Nos. 7, 14, Two Future Firsts

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jul 29, 2021 8:27 pm

The Golden State Warriors have rejected an offer from the Philadelphia 76ers of Ben Simmons for James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins, Nos. 7 and 14 in the 2021 draft, along with two future first round picks.

Golden State reportedly quickly turned down the offer from Philadelphia.

One league executive said the Sixers are making “totally outlandish offers.”

Who the hell does Morey think he's trying to trade? Raps, Spurs, now Warriors. All absolutely insane proposals. The guy can't shoot and has an absolute albatross of a contract. If Morey's lucky he gets just as bad a contract back - i.e. two overpaid, flawed players being swapped in hopes that a change of scenery might help.
If Morey's trying to get anyone of value, he better be prepared to ADD picks or players with Simmons. Otherwise the rest of the league will be just as happy to see Philly eat that contract and be in cap hell for the next few years.

Morey will be fortunate to get more than an established NBA player, salary filler, and a protected pick or two back for Simmons. The league knows Morey is dealing from a weak hand, and who wants to commit $140M over 4 years to a guy that can't shoot and with reported attitude issues? Some team may be willing to take a flier on him, but only if they're not giving up much more than crippling their cap for 4 years.

“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

Interesting ploy. Here’s a guy who’s already a 3 time all star, nearly dpoy, and yet all these teams are saying no. And Morey doesn’t mind that this is all being played out in public. He can hang out with the babes in his Hollywood crib, but he ain’t all that until he changes his two cent attitude to match his God given talent. Maybe he should sit on the Sixer bench and figure this out.

Lol 76ers would be lucky to get wiseman, and wiggins but no, they also wanted 2 lottery picks. If Philly keeps up with these ridiculous offers then Ben Simmons will be on the team next year. 2nd time we've heard their offer was declined. Toronto and Golden State weren't having it.

Pretty laughable what the 76ers asked for if this is true. Wiggins of these past two years played at an elite level on defense. Offensively Wiggins has proven that he could put up 20+ on any given night. Yeah, the only knock on Wiggins is his big contract, until you look at Simmons'. No way we are adding 7 and 14 from this deepest draft since 2003 plus Wiseman and 2 more futures.

The comments here are hilarious Wiggins is a liability and Wiseman has showed not much as yet but hey a big man could develop pick 7 and 14 meh could be ok.. Two futures as well ok now I am with you that's too much I'd say 1 future pick but if GSW can get Beal or Lillard instead they should and will hold out for that even if it cost them a bit more but Simmons would be a good fit for this team.

And based on your assessments, the same can be easily said for Simmons being a liability also.
