The New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to hire Mike D'Antoni as a coaching consultant on the staff of Willie Green.
D'Antoni spent last season as an assistant coach on the bench with Steve Nash for the Brooklyn Nets.
D'Antoni left the Nets this offseason as he takes a lesser role while seeking another head coaching job.
D'Antoni will periodically spend time with Pelicans' coaching staff through summer league, training camp and season.
