He has 3 seasons to make it up. And now he doesn't have to play on a team where he clearly wasn't happy. Your paycheck isn't worth anything if you're not going home happy.

I could think of 78 million reasons to go home happy.

Worse case scenario, I could demand a trade after a year.

Dis dude played himself bro. Should've taken the money and demanded a trade in the off-season. Always take the money. Unless you are an all time great already, you must always take the money.

You think he is going to be happy on the celtics.. Celtics need a pass first PG not score first they have two wings that can score 30 plus a night.. Dennis will be as happy and helpful as Kyrie was.. It worked when IT was there because that prior to the emergence of Tatum and Jaylen.. Now Dennis needs to pass the ball as the first option that's not his game he is a slasher..

I have gone from not liking him to, now wishing him well. His agent either screwed him or allowed him to be screwed big-time.

And we also need a scorer off the bench that can keep things going when Jaylen and Tatum are resting. Like a Lou Williams/Jamaal Cawford/Leandro Barbosa type of player, which was ever so highlighted last season aside from not having a legit paint protector; and he fits the bill. Sure he may/may not start, but definitely there will be a lot of minutes and opportunities for him with the C's.

LoL coming off the bench was what made him unhappy to begin with. Dude thinks he's an all-star.

I could think of 78 million reasons to go home happy.

Worse case scenario, I could demand a trade after a year.

1) Money can't buy happiness. There is no reason to commit 4 years to an unpleasant situation.
2) He isn't good enough to demand a trade... or anything else for that matter.
3) Why do people insist on comparing a 4 year deal to a one year deal? His first year on the extension would likely have been in the $16-18M range. So he left 10-20M on the tame and could still net more than $84M over the next 4 years (not likely, but he didn't leave $78M on the table)

He came off the bench exactly zero times last season.

Yeah, Dennis has a history of being happy in Atlanta, OKC and the Lakers. And the Celtics have a culture of happy PGs. Like Kyrie Irving and Kemba Walker. Sounds like a great partnership.

Every other year we have an idiot like shroeder or noel who doesn't take the money and run just to never recoup the money passed up for the rest of their careers. Kendrick Nunn probably nervous af right now lol

they take that bet because some teams are stupid/desperate enough to significantly overpay above average players. Look at the contracts that Buddy Hield, Tobias Harris, Otto Porter, James Johnson, Tony Snell, Gary Harris, Andrew Wiggins, Dion waiters, Iguodala, Rubio, Terrence Ross, Rodney Hood or Corey Joseph have.

Shroder the Great nets only 6 mln/year? What kinda world do we live in?

Serves him right. I've been following him since his Atlanta days and he's as mature as a 15-years-old brat.

This is actually great . Dennis actually stuck it back to Lebron, because it was Lebrons intention to use him as a sign and trade and bring back A Guard with a large contract such as Buddy Hield.
