But, it is his fault for not changing his game since he's entered the league, like developing a 3-point shot. He'll likely never be the type of Center that can effectively guard the pick and roll, but I think if he had a 3-point shot, he'd have more of a chance to stick with a team.

I love Claxton but they think he's a center and he is not. You're gonna go up again Embiid and Drummond people 
Lakers have 3 centers now It's a long season and he could've given Aldridge a breather. the guy can ball.

If his skill set were the other way around, he'd still be in the league. 20 years ago, he could have easily coasted his way to a 12 year career (not saying he was coasting now.)
(Traditional) NBA centers and NFL running backs are a tough gig these days.

This reminds me a lot of the 04 Lakers. They decided against bringing Horry back in order to save a few dollars and during the finals they ended up having to start Slava Medvedenko in the finals because of injuries. The Nets seem to be trimming away their safety Nets to make a few extra dollars in profit. In the end, I see this backfiring.MitchB3 wrote:nycefnl wrote:Blake is not a center.

Offensively, he's not a lob threat/vertical spacer, he can't shoot, and no team is gonna use possessions to dump the ball in the post to him at this point, so offensively he's offering absolutely nothing and that's before you consider his defensive or lack thereof. If he could space the floor, he would more than likely have a spot in the league.
He looked decent on a terrible 76ers team because they gave him those attempts in the post because they were.. terrible. He's past of the point of being a promising prospect for any team even if they're terrible, to give him those same amount of shots. So he offers essentially nothing to a team hence why he's been consistently waived since leaving Philly.

I'm just saying. It's a long season and he could have given you buckets on the interior. I'm tired of watching small ball lineups in the NBA. It's like watching college basket ball or WNBA. I hate small ball.

He actually plays Embiid and Drummond pretty well. His one on one defense isn't the problem. It is his perimeter defense.

the numbers say otherwise.
For his career, Embiid averages over 2 pts per minute when they are both on the court together.
More recently, Embiid literally missed zero shots while facing Okafor over the course of last season and drew more than 1 FTA per minute.
Drummond's shooting was awful, but he scored 44 points in 2 games when Okafor was on the court
