I said maybe Simmons if the trades are bad enough. Even then it will likely need to include picks from the Rockets, too,. Maybe even a 3rd team. The Sixers will need to move him. I don't think the trade offers are that bad, but at the same time the Sixers are in a win now mode. If trades brings them back young players and/or picks which takes time to grow, I'm not sure they don't take a Wall trade over that.
Simmons gets paid around 15 or 16 million on October 1st. That's before he is required to show up anywhere. It was a great move on his agent's part to have it that way for this very reason. To use it as leverage if a trade request needs to happen. That way his client gets paid half his salary and can still sit the entire season. They can dock the rest of his pay, but he already made it clear he is willing to do that if it needs to be done.
His stock will not increase if he refuses to play. If the Sixers start losing games during the season, it may even drop more because other teams will know they are getting desperate to make a move. At best his stock will remain the same, but no way it gets better without him playing.
The other option is to make him sit all year and then look to make a move next off season, but you're basically taking a year off in terms of contending for a title and spending all that money for the rest of the players.

These s uper max deals are crippling the league. I like seeing the players get the cash over the owners, but these deals seam to fizzle out about three years before they're finished and that can ruin a team. There's like three new teams going into rebuild more each year.

It is the team's fault for giving all these players the supermax. Those contracts should be given to the Curry's, LeBron's, KD's and Giannis' of the league.Bk68 wrote:These s uper max deals are crippling the league. As one would have it though, most of these teams have been able to trade these players. It remains to be seen, but I think Wall will end up being traded again, too. If they do not then it is the Rockets fault for trading for him when he was coming off a big injury.
Also, players like Wall and KD and Klay put their bodies on the line day in and day out. That is what caused them massive season ending injuries in the past. So one could argue they more than earned their money because of that. Maybe they should have teams be given an option to have only part of a player's supermax salary count towards their cap hit for the rest of the contract if they got injured while on the supermax contract. Unless they are able to get back to the same effectiveness.
Something like that could be useful to allow players to keep their money and allow teams the flexibility to trade an easier contract cap wise or allow them to use that extra cap space if it puts them under the cap.

Only a few deals seam plausible :
* Cavs ship Kevin Love / Rubio for Wall / Nwaba
* Raptors ship Dragic / OG / Birch for Wall + future draft pick(s)
* Magic ship Garry Harris / Fultz / Robin Lopez / M. Carter Williams for Wall + future draft pick(s)
Lol at the Raptors including OG for an overpaid Wall.
The deal would be Dragic, Boucher, Birch and nothing else. Raptors would also need at least 2 first round picks to be compensated for each year Wall is on contract for...if not more.

Can't see Cavs wanting Wall since they have SexLand. And can't see Rockets wanting Love.
The only teams I can see being viable for Wall is maybe Dallas just to give them more talent and if Luka would play off the ball more. Or maybe New Orleans...

The article states that Wall is at a different stage, meaning the Rockets respect the fact that Wall wants to win now.
But yeah, we all know that Fertitta could care less that Wall wants to win now. But then again, he did care enough for PJ etc.
I think it's less about finding Wall a place he can contend, and more just finding a place where he can play significant minutes. Houston wants to give minutes to younger players, which is understandably a difficult situation for the team and for Wall.
By all reports Wall was a good team guy through a difficult last year, I'd like to see him get a chance to play on at least a playoff level team but I don't think that's a requirement or anything for anyone involved.

Well, HOU might want Love because the buyout would be less of a hit than a Wall buyout. But you're right, CLE has no use for Wall.

There is three things wall is good at and it’s not winning.
1.)Getting injured
2) sitting in the bench
3) losing. Career loser with like on or two winning seasons thanks to his team

Thanks to his team?
Otto Porter and Markeiff Morris, bench players since Wall… though Porter was a great 3&D back then, injuries hurt him a lot…
Gortat is out of the league.
The bench was never inspiring either…
Beal was the only player on that roster that was great, and back then he was still a middling 2nd option.
He was the reason they were winning, in his prime he was elite, and a winner.
Issue is before that the team wasn’t good enough that anyone short off LeBron and true superstars of the league, could carry to the playoffs… and now, we’ll his game did not age well…
Give him a great coach and he would still be a servicable starting PG…
I think fertilla likes saving money…
So he will do whatever helps him business wise
