Jordan Poole To Start For Klay Thompson

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Oct 7, 2021 12:56 pm

The Golden State Warriors are going to be without Klay Thompson until sometime around the holidays. Steve Kerr says Golden State will replace Thompson with Jordan Poole. And it's a lineup move that's likely to stick for a while.

The third-year guard has gotten off to a hot start in the preseason. Kerr said, "“For now, he’ll be in that starting spot and he’s playing so well, it’s hard to envision not keeping him there.” In the Warriors first two preseason games, Poole has scored 47 points on 44 minutes.

Poole was pressed into action earlier than expected as a rookie in the 2019-20 season. He played 22 minutes per game, but shot poorly and generally seemed overwhelmed by the NBA game. As a sophomore, Poole found his shot and averaged 12 points in just 19 minutes per game. That solid play has him poised for a big role for the Warriors this season.

Poole is a baller. People around the League are going to be surprised by what Jordan Poole can do on the court on the offensive end.

+1. Poole has great handle, good speed, and he can drive and dish. The only knock on him during his first year was his inconsistent shot. But boy, did he improve on that, a +10% on his 2nd year. If he continues to improve I won't even be surprised if he is the next gen star for my Ws after Curry.
