Nets Open To Kyrie Irving Trade; 76ers Seen As James Harden Suitor

The Brooklyn Nets haven't ruled out trading star guard Kyrie Irving. While the Nets aren't making calls about trading Irving, they are taking them from other teams.

Irving has yet to play this season. Because of his unvaccinated status, Irving isn't eligible to play in Nets home games. Brooklyn's leadership decided that they would not let Irving be a part-time player and have chosen to sit him entirely.

Also of concern is James Harden's future in Brooklyn. Harden did not sign an extension prior to the deadline to get one done. He has a player option for the 2022-23 that he is expected to decline in favor of signing a long-term deal.

The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly have Harden on their list of 30 players they'd accept in a Ben Simmons trade. Sixers president Daryl Morey previously tried to trade for Harden and has an affinity for the star from their Houston Rockets days.

I actually forgot all about Kyrie and that he was sitting out still.

Who the heck would trade anything of value for him at this point? Between his anti-vax and being unavailable to play plus his strange personality and team chemistry issues I don't know if he's tradable right now. Even Simmons may have more value then Kyrie right now - it's probably pretty similar value.

If you go to the source article, it's wrote by the same guy, and it looks like a 7th graders double spaced book report.

if I'm the Nets I just hold and try to win a title

(if I'm a Celtics fan I hope they hold and it all blows up on them, but whatever)

Gotta admit Durant and Simmons could be quite a pairing, can't think of a duo like that ever (well.. I guess shades of Steph/Draymond sort of)

Pro Tip - Don't criticize people's writing while saying things like "it's wrote by the same guy..."

If Harden opts out, it will be hilarious, considering they gave up 5 years worth of picks for him.

Kyrie also has a player option for next year. He will almost certainly decline. If Nets are not making calls to trade him now, it means they are fine with letting him go for free.
They could trade him not for a star but for some depth and significantly increase their chances to win, but instead they will probably let him walk, lose in conference semifinals, Harden will walk and it will be a big failed experiment by them.

Are 76ers seen as a James Harden suitor simply because they turned down the trade last season? Talk about trying to save face Morey you wanna be brilliant broke bum

Durant and a weak minded fool who can't/won't shoot? Yeah... amazing

Any team without a city mandate should be good to go. Also it’s the best time to buy low since you can’t counter offer uncertainty he will opt in so it’s virtually expiring

Why would Kyrie opt out? I can’t imagine anybody would give him any substantial contract at this point. Harden walking looks like a near certainty to me. Why would he want to be on a team full of crazy and drama.

"I get doubled every single possession"
- Joel Embiid

Oh, poor baby.

Rivers, this week, asked his PR staff to find out a statistic from the NBA’s league office: Which team of 30 led in player games missed due to COVID this year. The answer? The Sixers, with 27.

What a bunch of crybabies.
